FAQ

About Refills

What is Zero Waste?

The definition of Zero-Waste according to the Zero Waste Alliance:

“Zero waste: The conservation of all resources by means of responsible production, consumption, reuse, and recovery of products, packaging, and materials without burning and with no discharges to land, water, or air that threaten the environment or human health.”

Essentially, zero-waste isn't just about tackling "end-of-life" waste. It's about encouraging a more circular approach to production and consumption when it comes to a product's lifecycle.

What are zero-waste refills?

Zero-waste refills are dew lab's solution to reducing single-use plastic waste as a beauty brand.

Single-use plastics are the primary contributor to plastic waste globally.

Our refills are made from 100% recyclable glass and aluminum and we offer a ship back program so that these bottles can get a second life before being recycled.

A few facts about plastic waste in the beauty industry

1. The beauty industry produces more than 120 billion units of plastic packaging every year.

2. Since 1950, only 9% of plastic waste has been recycled globally.

3. More than 70% of plastic waste ends up in landfills or incinerated because there is no cheap and easy way to truly repurpose non-recyclable plastic packaging.

4. Single-use plastic is the primary source of plastic pollution.

5. Plastic waste chokes up landfills, oceans and contributes to global warming.
